Pre-Order FAQs

Can I add other items to my pre-order?

Yes, you can shop the rest of the store in the same cart. Pre-order items ship on their own timeline, so they may arrive separately from anything else in your order.

Can I ship a pre-order to someone else?

Yes. Enter the recipient's address at checkout. Advent calendars and nightgowns both make wonderful gifts, and package protection is a good idea for any package that will be sitting on someone else's porch.

Are pre-order items final sale?

Yes. Advent calendars and nightgowns are final sale, so please double check your selections, sizing, and shipping address before you check out.

When do orders ship?

We don't ship daily. Standard orders ship within two weeks of purchase (typically sooner). Advent calendars ship around November 27, and nightgowns ship once they're made.

How will I know my order has shipped?

You'll receive an email with tracking information once your order is scanned at the post office.

Why did my order arrive in more than one package?

Advent calendars ship in their own protective box, and nightgowns are made to order, so pre-order items can ship separately from the rest of your order. Each package gets its own tracking email.

Who delivers my order?

USPS. Once a package leaves our hands, it's in their care.

What is Guide Package Protection?

Guide is an optional package protection service you can add at checkout, typically for under $2. If your package is lost, stolen, or damaged, Guide guarantees a full refund or replacement. Guide honors every legitimate claim, and the claims process is simple.

Why should I add package protection to a holiday order?

The holidays are the busiest stretch of the year for USPS, and more packages mean more chances for one to go missing or arrive banged up. Advent calendars are a limited seasonal item and nightgowns are made to order just for you, and both are final sale, so there isn't a quick way to swap in another if something goes wrong. For typically under $2, Guide covers your order so a problem in transit doesn't become a problem at Christmas. It's also a smart add when you're sending a gift to someone else.

How do I file a package protection claim?

Go to cedarhillhomesteadtn.com/claim and enter your order information.

What if I don't add package protection?

USPS Priority Mail includes only $50 of insurance coverage. In that case you can file a claim directly with USPS at usps.com/help/claims using your tracking number. USPS requires photos of both the damaged packaging and the shipping label to process a claim. We aren't able to cover lost, stolen, delayed, or damaged packages that weren't protected.

Do you accept returns?

We do not accept returns or issue refunds unless an item is defective or an error was made on our part. Advent calendars and nightgowns are final sale.

What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?

Email us at info@cedarhillhomesteadtn.com within 14 days of delivery. Include your order number and a clear photo of the issue and we'll make it right.

What if my package is lost or stolen?

If you added Guide Package Protection, file a claim at cedarhillhomesteadtn.com/claim. If you didn't, see the USPS claim steps above.

Who do I contact with other questions?

Email info@cedarhillhomesteadtn.com.

Advent FAQs

Is it a 12-day or 24-day calendar?

This year's calendar is 12 days, with one box to open each day leading up to Christmas.

Can I reuse the calendar?

Yes. The calendar is designed in-house to be kept and enjoyed year after year.

Is it vegan?

No. Contents may include tallow, honey, and beeswax.

Do you ship advent calendars internationally?

Orders shipping outside the US likely won't arrive in time for the full 12 days. We'd recommend sending international gifts to a US address if you can.

Why are advent calendars pre-order only?

Because of the seasonal nature and limited availability of our advent calendars, the only way to get one is to reserve it during pre-order. They will not be available during the holiday release, so if you want one, this is the window.

Will advent calendars be restocked after pre-order closes?

No. Advent calendars are available exclusively during pre-order and will not be part of the holiday release.

Can I find out what's inside?

The contents are a secret until you open each box. What we can tell you: nearly every item is a one of a kind exclusive. You may recognize 1 or 2 items, especially if you are part of our monthly gift subscription. Every item is inspired by requests, beloved past subscription gifts, and brand new creations from Tori, made just for this occasion.

What are my advent calendar options?

The Signature Advent Calendar with box is $200. The Fill Your Own option (no box) is $175.

Who designed the calendar? Can I reuse it?

The calendar was designed in-house by artist Hanna Milosevich, blending vintage nostalgia with a daily dose of plant magic. It is reusable. When the season is over, tuck it away and enjoy it again next year.

How do I use the advent calendar?

Open one box each day for the 12 days leading up to Christmas.

When will my advent calendar ship?

Advent calendars are set to ship around November 27, each in its own protective box. We choose postage so US orders arrive in time for you to open all 12 days leading up to Christmas.

What are the ingredients? Are they all plant-based?

Every gift in the calendar is made with naturally derived ingredients, but not every one is 100% plant-based. Like much of our hair care and skincare, some of these little treasures include plant extracts or a naturally inspired preservative to keep them fresh, effective, and gentle on skin. We always choose our ingredients with your skin and the earth in mind. Because the contents are a surprise, please note that they may include tallow, honey, and beeswax.

I have an allergy or sensitivity. What should I do?

Please email us at info@cedarhillhomesteadtn.com before you order so we can talk through it with you.

Can I return or exchange an advent calendar?

Due to the seasonal nature and limited availability of our advent calendars, we cannot accept returns or offer refunds on this item. All sales are final. If your advent calendar arrives defective or we have made a mistake, email us a photo within 14 days of delivery so we can make it right.

Nightgown FAQs

How do I know which one will fit me?

Our nightgowns are free size, cut loose and easy like old-fashioned nightdresses. Every listing shows the pit-to-pit width (or bust panel on Betty), the length, and the largest US and UK size it fits. Measurements are taken laid flat, so the easiest way to check is to lay a favorite gown of yours on the bed and compare. Jodie is the roomiest and fits up to a US 16 (UK 20), while Pearl and Margo are cut closer, up to a US 10 (UK 14). Tori is wearing them in the photos, and her measurements are on each listing too.

What does made to order mean?

Your nightgown is made after you order it, so it takes a little longer to reach you than our apothecary goods. We'll email you tracking as soon as it's on its way.

Will it ship with the rest of my order?

It may not. Because nightgowns are made to order, they can ship separately from anything else in your cart.

Can I return or exchange it if it doesn't fit?

All nightgown sales are final, so please check the measurements before ordering. If yours arrives damaged or we've made a mistake, email us a photo within 14 days of delivery and we'll make it right.

How do I care for it?

Machine wash cool (30°C/86°F) and skip bleach and harsh detergents. Check the garment tag for any specific care. The cotton softens nicely over time.

Is Jodie good for nursing?

Yes. The button front opens easily for nursing, and the full cut is comfortable through pregnancy and postpartum.

Which nightgown styles are available?

All nightgowns are $88 and made from 100% cotton.

  • Pearl in White: soft white cotton that falls to mid-calf, with a square neckline that dips a little lower in back, embroidered cutwork cap sleeves, and a band of embroidery at the hem.
  • Betty in White or Black: a pinafore-style gown with a square neckline, fluted sleeves, and open sides that tie with ribbon. Fine pin-tucks over the bust and wide broderie anglaise lace trim every edge. Full length.
  • Jodie in Black: our roomiest gown, sleeveless, with broderie anglaise at the neckline and straps, a deep flounced hem, and buttons and loops down the front.
  • Margo in Seafoam: soft sage green cotton scattered with embroidered cream roses, with flutter sleeves, a ruffled ribbon-tie neckline, and a band of embroidery tucked between two rows of pin-tucks above the hem. Full length.

Is there a nursing-friendly option?

Yes. Jodie has buttons and loops down the front, so it's easy to slip on and easy for nursing mamas.
