Our Story

This dance we do between herbalism and homesteading is a remembrance. A gift to our ancestors and a promise to our children that we'll leave this Earth better than we found it.

On the homestead, we rely on our land for everything.

It's a reciprocal relationship rooted in care, respect, and nourishment. In the apothecary, we don't just blend ingredients; we craft each remedy using both traditional Southern folk wisdom and herbal chemistry. We grow what we can and carefully source the rest from small, family farms, down to the alcohol and oils we use. We truly believe the extra time and care that goes into a traceable supply chain makes our offerings so potent and alive.

We hope you feel this connection every time you take one of our tinctures, steep one of our teas, or apply our skin and hair care. In a world increasingly reliant on technology, it's easy to drift from a place of simple connection. At Cedar Hill Homestead, we strive to bring you back—to the plants, the land, and a community of people committed to living in rhythm with both.

OUR ROOTS

In the South, herbalism has never been a trend, it's a way of life.

A means of sur-thrival in a region often overlooked and under-resourced. Here, we've long relied on the land and on ourselves: to grow our own, raise our own, and make our own.

Southern folkways still carry this spirit. Many of us wash and reuse tin foil, cook from a single, well-seasoned skillet, and keep jars of homemade remedies for just about everything. Many do this without ever identifying as an "herbalist."

The folk traditions we carry forward at Cedar Hill Homestead are deeply shaped by the South's intertwined roots. Knowledge woven from Black, Indigenous, and European lineages. It's this blend of pragmatism, creativity, and reverence for the land that continues to guide our work today.

Our Herbalist

Our founder and in-house herbalist Victoria, is a Tennessee native carrying on generations of herbal tradition. Growing up in the woods outside Nashville, every family member had a nickname for the plants around them and made nearly everything by hand. At 15, after self-treating endometriosis, Victoria discovered that the plant allies she needed had been her closest neighbors all along. She's crafted remedies for herself and others ever since.

Victoria's a self-proclaimed "community herbalist," working with plants that grow abundantly in the region. At Cedar Hill, Victoria formulates every tincture, tea, skincare, and seasonal remedy with intention, guided by the rhythms of the seasons and the wisdom of place. Beyond the apothecary, she shares her knowledge through classes, plant walks, and gatherings that invite others to rekindle their own relationship with the land.

At the center of it all is a simple ethos: herbal care should be accessible, rooted in community, and alive with the spirit of the plants.

Access Your Superpower

"Knowing what's beneath your feet, what to nibble on, and how to use it, is not only a birthright, but a superpower we all have access to."

VICTORIA

OUR HOMESTEAD

Cedar Hill Homestead is not your ordinary farm.

Victoria and Francesco have created an intentionally tended landscape where wild and cultivated plants and animals coexist. Their shared passion for wild tending and ethnoecology is evident the moment you step onto the land or experience one of their creations.

When they met, Francesco was a professional chef and Tori was managing and bartending. Both of them incorporating seasonal, foraged ingredients and being as creative as you'd imagine. Folks often comment on the intentionality behind the scent and taste of their products, in addition to the efficacy. They genuinely do not cut any corners, on the farm or in their formulas.

As homesteaders, they strive to make as much as possible themselves. Living in rhythm with the land, honoring its abundance and giving back in return. While the homestead itself isn't open to the public, their Apothecary and community events offer a window into this way of life.
