How to Use

For use head to toe. Though tested on the most sensitive of pits, we always recommend doing a test patch.

Please note, although we use a small percent, acids are strong and should be used with caution. Always do a test patch and do not use near eyes, and do not sun tan areas that you’ve applied the day of or night before. If you use on your pits, just avoid sun tanning your pits. If you decide to use it as a facial toner or on your arms, etc., just use caution in direct sunlight 🧡

Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid & Lactic Acid can help tremendously with bumps like keratosis pilaris, ingrowns, flakes, etc. This is why we put it in a large 4oz bottle! Not just for your pits.

How to use Tonifying Deodorant Spray

  • Use 1–2 light mists per underarm and let it dry completely. More is not better! The underarm is already warm, moist, and prone to friction. Oversaturating the area can leave acids sitting wet against the skin longer than intended and increase the chance of irritation.
  • Avoid applying immediately after shaving, waxing, or hair removal, or to irritated, freshly exfoliated, or broken skin. Give your skin some time to settle first.
  • On hot, sweaty days, let it dry before getting dressed or heading outside. It only takes a few seconds and allows you to start the day with dry pits.
  • Start slowly on new areas. Underarms that use this product every day may be accustomed to it, but your face, scalp, or other areas may not be. Patch test first and begin with occasional use.
  • Don’t stack your acids. If you’re using this on your face or body, avoid applying it in the same area at the same time as other strong exfoliating acids, retinoids, scrubs, or potentially irritating actives.
  • Be sun smart! AHAs can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. When using on sun-exposed areas before going out, we recommend daytime sun protection. Best to not apply immediately before prolonged sun exposure.

More than a Deodorant

While we created this formula for underarms, AHA + BHA exfoliation can be useful from head to toe. Customers also love using it as a quick exfoliating treatment for:

Face

Helps gently exfoliate dead skin and keep pores clear. Start with 1–2 evenings per week rather than jumping into daily use. Avoid the eye area.

Scalp

Try it as an occasional pre-shampoo scalp treatment for buildup, excess oil, and flaky dead skin. Let it sit briefly before shampooing rather than leaving it on indefinitely until you know how your scalp responds.

Keratosis Pilaris + Rough Skin:

Mist over those stubborn little bumps on the backs of arms, thighs, or other rough areas to help loosen accumulated dead skin and smooth texture over time.

Ingrown-Prone Areas:

Can be used between hair-removal days to help keep dead skin from accumulating around follicles.Don’t use immediately after shaving or waxing.

Body Breakouts:

A convenient way to exfoliate areas like the back, chest, or booty where clogged pores and bumps tend to appear.

The smell is nice and I knew it wasn't going to make me not sweat, but this spray actually made me sweat MORE. I don't have terribly sensitive skin but I did a patch test with it for a few days prior to spraying my entire underarms. Patch test passed but after a few consecutive days of applying it over my entire underarms I developed a painful red rash. I wanted to love this product as I have been searching for natural deodorants my entire adult life, which means I've tried every one that I've come across but ultimately this one didn't work for me.

I have been on a never ending search for a more natural deodorant that didn’t cause my pits to break out in horrible rashes (get outta here baking soda!) and actually maintained odor for any amount of time and holy cow this works! I actually had a buddy sniff me today because I couldn’t believe how effective this spray is! This is so much more than a deodorant - it's a reset for your skin. I just turned 60 and for those who haven't gotten that far in their journey, let me just warn you that your skin biome is going to change. This skin tonic has helped me in ways that no amount of washing or oiling did. And somehow I missed that it was good for your scalp, which has been another problem area for me the last few years. I haven't had any issues! I got the larger bottle, and a smaller one for my scalp (that arrived yesterday, and lemme tell you, from the last bottle, I also love the way it helps my scalp), and I hadn't previously tried the scent with the larger one.
It's been great so far! I have had so many issues with deodorant over the years. And a lot of the formulas I've used in the past are paste or stick based, and I feel like those interfere with my lymph flow (others that spray, like Weleda, don't seem to last long enough). Your deo has been a great solution for me, so far, in that respect, as well.

This is the ONLY deodorant that actually works for my body odor, especially postpartum. I try other brands to see and I come back for this one. I personally prefer to have no essential oils as at the end of the day the scent wears off so I see no purpose in EO since it's already infused with herbs but that's just my personal preference. Overall this deodorant is my favorite because it works.

We LOVE this deodorant spray! My husband uses it in his beard to prevent any flakes, and we've both been using it as a deodorant. We live and work on a farm, so we get very very smelly. This has been amazing for odor. I also have extremely sensitive skin, and most other natural deodorants - even ones I've made - irritate my skin. This has healed my skin and left me smelling just clean. We keep buying this because it's the only thing we love/trust at this point haha. One million times recommend.

I am so glad I tried this deodorant spray. I don't like using anything with aluminum and a lot of the 'Natural' deodorants just don't work well or make my armpits break out. I had no problem switching to this spray. Living in AZ and working outside sweating and odors just seemed to be something I had to live with until I started using this Tonifying Spray. I love how easy it is to use and I can work outside, be sweaty, yet I don't have any nasty smells. I have also noticed if I forget a day now it still is working. Frequently Asked Questions about Our Tonifying Deodorant Spray

The deodorant worked wonderfully for a while, but now I'm noticing light stinging or little red bumps. What should I do?

First, give your pits a 24–48 hour break, or until the skin feels completely normal again.

Our AHA/BHA deodorant works in part by creating a low-pH environment that odor-causing bacteria don't love. That acidity is part of what makes it so effective, but underarm skin can occasionally become irritated—especially when acids are combined with moisture, friction, shaving, heat, or overapplication.

Once your skin is happy again, ease back in: try one light mist per pit, allow it to dry completely, and see how you do. You may find you simply need less product or an occasional day off.
My pits feel unusually wet after applying. Is the deodorant making me sweat more?

Nope! Our formula is not an antiperspirant, so it doesn't block sweat—and it doesn't contain anything intended to increase perspiration either.

If you're feeling unusually wet immediately after application, you may simply be using more product than necessary or getting dressed/moving around before it has dried. Try one light mist per pit and give it a few seconds to dry completely.
Can I use it right after shaving?

We don't recommend it. Shaving creates tiny disruptions in the skin barrier, and acids that normally feel perfectly comfortable can sting like crazy on freshly shaved skin. Give your skin some recovery time before applying.
Can I use it every day?

This deodorant is formulated for daily use and many people happily use it daily on their underarms, but trust your skin and always do a test patch!
Is this deodorant good for sensitive pits?

To our surprise, despite the base being acids, we get nonstop feedback from folks with underarm eczema and general sensitivities that it has cleared it up for them. We always recommend starting light just in case!
